Bartlett Details

Bartlett is one of two locations on the upper level that was also present on V1 of the layout.  The track plan has remained the same for Bartlett, but it occupies 18 linear feet of layout on V3 versus the roughly 9 feet on V1.

In the early 1950s, the turntable was not longer present in Bartlett, so the wye was the only way to turn locomotives.  Bartlett is home to several locomotives used as helpers for trains travelling on the steep grade between Bartlett and Crawford Notch. It also accepts small amounts of freight at the combination freight house and depot.

The depot was constructed from a kit for V1 and will be reused here on V3 of the layout.
